Laeticia was surfing with her dad when a white shark bit off her left leg at the hip. Her father tried to use the board's leash as a tourniquet. Her mom and an off-duty nurse started to perfom CPR right at the beach. Laeticia passed away later in the hospital. Since 2000, 15 fatal incidents occurred with white sharks in Western Australia.
