The fatal incident on Arthur Medici (26 years old) happened close to Newcomb Hollow Beach in Wellfleet (Cape Cod, Massachusetts). Arthur was boogie boarding when a white shark bit him in the leg. Although he got rescued immediately and brought to the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, he shortly died after. It was the first fatal incident since 1936 in that region.
